T.T.'s iconic denim jacket. Made from original 100% organic cotton denim fabric woven on vintage power looms in Okayama Prefecture. This is a 3/1 left-hand twill, light ounce denim woven in Okayama on vintage power looms using organic cotton from the U.S. The denim fabric, slowly woven on vintage power looms (also known as shuttle looms) which can only weave at 1/10 to 1/20 the speed of modern looms, retains the original irregularities of the cotton threads, creating a desirable uneven texture. The warp threads are indigo mixed with sulfur dye, characterized by a weathered, green-cast color. They are rope-dyed with a white core. For the weft threads, custom nep yarn dyed in a yellowish ecru that evokes the passage of time is used. By using these two types of threads, Taiga Takahashi expresses his unique, deep and rich indigo blue. The finish is a "white selvage" denim fabric that has undergone sanforization, a shrink-proofing process. The white selvage is utilized in various places, such as the back of the belt. The signature leather patch is mud-dyed in Amami Oshima. The buttons and rivets are reproduced in original colors after studying 1940s Art Deco buttons and rivets, making this item meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail.
