Taiga Takahashi Lot.603 Charcoal Sweatshirt - Charcoal

This sweatshirt was inspired by the origins of American sportswear from before the 1950s, a time before synthetic materials became widespread.
Like the Lot.601 Tee Shirt, it features a flat silhouette created by direct cutting.

It incorporates a "V-gusset," a sweat-absorbing detail on the front and back of the neck that is often omitted in modern manufacturing due to cost-cutting or technological improvements. This specification reflects the social context and craftsmanship of the era.

The tubular-knit fleece fabric is produced using existing loopwheel machines. Introduced to Japan during the Taisho era, these loopwheel machines are rare, and are currently only in operation in Wakayama Prefecture. Although this highly inefficient manufacturing process produces only about one meter of fabric per hour, the time-consuming method results in a fabric with a unique, uneven texture that feels infused with air. Furthermore, the use of USA cotton gives the material a dry, distinctive texture.

The charcoal and beige versions are garment-dyed, creating natural tonal variations in the seams and on the textured surface of the fabric. Combined with the uneven texture characteristic of loopwheel knitting, this finish gives the single-colored fabric a subtle, nuanced appearance.
