Original material woven at a textile mill in the Bishu region.
This plain weave fabric is made from medium-fine count hemp yarn, woven with the highest possible density in both warp and weft.
After weaving, the fabric undergoes a Nidom process, which intentionally shrinks it significantly, creating a unique uneven texture on the surface.
During this process, the surface is rubbed, softening the fibers and resulting in a moist, brushed-like feel.
Although the fabric is as stiff as canvas when woven at high density, the Nidom process gives it the texture of an old fabric that has been cherished for many years.
