This design is based on wool jersey underwear from the 1940s.
Underwear from that era often lacked elasticity and featured an open front, commonly known as a Henley neck.
Presumably, to accommodate wearing it as an undershirt, the opening was shifted to the side instead of the front center, designed to prevent overlapping. Additionally, the base of the back of the neck is reinforced with a self-fabric patch applied from the inside.
The material used is a jersey knit characterized by its natural uneven texture. It is knitted with high density, using yarn that reproduces the texture of an era when it was not possible to spin perfectly straight yarn.
The cuffs adopt a two-tier circular knit rib, a feature seen in undershirts from the 1910s. Like vintage items, a two-tone color scheme is used for the rib and body to add an accent.
