Taiga Takahashi Lot.322 Sports Jacket MELANGE CHARCOAL
The material used is a reproduction of the "TWEEDUROY" used in the 1930s sports jackets in Takahashi's collection.
"TWEEDUROY" is a fabric made by printing corduroy to resemble wool tweed, and was mainly used for boys' clothes and school uniforms.
It is unclear whether this was because it was more durable than wool fabric, or whether it was developed to imitate tweed and appear more luxurious.
This unique fabric was produced by the Hockmeyer Company in Massachusetts, and over time was also used for adult clothing.
