This sweatshirt was born from the origins of American sportswear before the 1950s when synthetic materials became widely used. The shape has the same direct cut and flat shape as Lot.601 Tee Shirt. By reconstructing the sweatshirt, we can understand the background of manufacturing that has been forgotten in the modern age, such as the V-gusset detail at the neck of the front and back. The round-body lining is created using a suspension knitting machine in Wakayama, Japan. The use of USA cotton gives the fabric a unique texture with a dry feel. The hang knitting machine, which came to Japan in the Taisho era (1912-1926) and is currently the only one in the world operating in Wakayama Prefecture, can knit only one meter per hour, making it very inefficient, but the slow process creates a unique textured fabric with a good degree of irregularity, as if surrounding air were knitted in together. The colors are processed in a nuanced manner with beautiful subtle changes. Like the glazing technique used for Raku ware, three different dyes are used and dyed at different times, which produces an iridescent sheen on the surface of the fabric and a unique uneven hue that differs from uneven dye.No two pieces are alike, and the unique expression can be seen and enjoyed.
