TT's iconic denim jacket.
Made from original 100% organic cotton denim fabric woven on old power looms in Okayama Prefecture.
3/1 left twill, light-ounce denim made from American organic cotton and woven on an old-fashioned power loom in Okayama.
Denim fabric is woven slowly on old-fashioned power looms, also known as shuttle looms, which can only weave at speeds 10 to 20 times slower than modern looms. This leaves the natural unevenness of the cotton thread intact, creating a nice unevenness.
The warp thread is indigo mixed with sulfide dyes, giving it a weathered green cast color.
The core is dyed white using rope dyeing, and the weft is made of custom-made nep yarn dyed a yellowish ecru color that gives the impression of age.
By using these two types of thread, Taiga Takahashi is able to express its unique, deep, rich indigo blue.
The finishing touch is a "white edge" selvedge denim fabric that has been treated with a shrink-proofing process called sanforization, and the white edge is used in various places, such as on the back of the belt.
The signature leather patch is dyed with mud from Amami Oshima, and the buttons and rivets are based on Art Deco buttons and rivets from the 1940s and reproduced in original colors, making this an item that is full of attention to detail.
