JAN JAN VAN ESSCHE
The source of inspiration is the culture cultivated by humankind. Instead of the classical western approach, such as armor, where clothes define the body, it takes a "body shapes the clothes" approach.
Therefore, we use the technique of reducing the number of seams as much as possible so that the material can be used as a garment as it is, and adopting the undyed natural color (although black, which is the source of infinite colors, is the main character). There are many things.
The designer wishes to remain humble and free, envisioning a world without boundaries, restrictions and exclusions.
Therefore, the clothes he makes have minimal cultural symbols (details) and his own ego, and are free from sexual symbols (genderless).
